The Nebulous Nature of Producer: A Cross-Industry Language Roundtable
In today’s entertainment production world, many terms need clarification. What does a term like “producer” mean to each camp – traditional media vs. interactive new media? From the side of traditional television and film, many concepts and terms, titles and roles are more clearly defined. In the case of those involved in crossmedia, transmedia, and gaming, they can have many more meanings. This Roundtable will discuss and suss out how shared industry terms can be minefields of expectation for either side, and how to best inform both sides in order to help communication and expectations line up when varying segments of the entertainment industry partner together. Join us in this session for a lively discussion of what key terms mean and how they can evolve – whether to encompass, limit, or to ultimately change the way we think about these roles in all types of production. Bring your questions, concerns and issues to the table! Join industry leaders in an intimate group of X-Summit delegates at this informative round table. Please arrive early, seating is limited for this session.
